My latest obsession is the
Hobonichi Techo (planner) and
I've been trying to do a sketch
per day. While on vacation, there
were a few more interesting
things to document than normal...
I think the entries are self-
explanatory. Please leave a comment
if you have questions...
Most drawings are done with a
Sharpie pen or a Pigma 005 Micron pen.
Watercolor pencils and a water brush
added color, or highlighters. There
is some regular ball-point pen too.
Can't resist adding some
Washi tape...
Every year I pick up a few more shells,
at least to draw them. Does anyone
know what type of seed pod this is?
It was found washed up on the beach.
We were excited to get a glimpse
of dolphins. I think there were 3 or 4.
The drawing was sketched from a
Google image, however! They were
too far out for me to see very well...
Recycling a coffee cup sketch,
so I can link up for T Tuesday
over at the Altered Book Lover Blog.
If you draw, sketch or paint in
your planner, I would love to
hear about it!
Well what a wonderful time you had with all kinds of excitement like spotting dolphins, leaks and relocating, yellow flags and more.
ReplyDeleteI will be SO sorry to see the Downton Abbey series come to an end.
I admire you Dianne for taking the time to journal about you lovely getaway.
It is such a part of you.
Happy T Day oxo
Thank you for your visit and kind words.
We are over the moon about our trip to France.
Ah, I LOVE that I can finally see the photos you took of this fun trip through art.
ReplyDeleteWhere were you when I was trying to draw a Mardi Gras mask? You realize you need to turn that into a rubber stamp (HINT!)
Trivial Pursuit! A game of totally useless knowledge I always seem to excel at. I'd have gladly joined you. I'd even have joined you the next day for eggs, then on to the beer garden.
Downton Abby is a show I've never watched. I know lots of people do, but I admit I watched lots of bowl games that day.
Loved that you played games and went to the beach. Seems about all you did was play games and eat at some great places. What's the red flag for? Wind, or high waves or ???
Sorry to read about hubby's ear infection. I can empathize with him. You certainly had a fun time, regardless, and I also loved Valerie's coffee quote.
I can't believe all you did while in FL. From walking on the beach to drawing to watching your grandchildren, then eating and splashing in an INDOOR pool connected to an OUTDOOR pool. What a vacation you had. Now you need to return to sanity and take a REAL vacation: one of rest and relaxation.
From Pizza to salads to apple strudel, you must have had a feast daily. I even recognized some of the restaurants that are also in Wichita.
What a fun time I know you had. Thanks for sharing your incredible food fest, game playing, beach walking, movie watching, and art filled vacation with us for T this Tuesday. Your vacation sounds to DIE FOR!
Forgot to mention there's a restaurant like that Asian one in Wichita, too. The chef cooks the meal at your table and the knives and twirls are an artform all their own. I took photos with my old camera, but they were so blurry you had no idea what you were looking at, since those guys move SO fast.
ReplyDeleteElizabeth, yes we DID mostly just eat and play games!! ;) and walk on the beach. Or maybe it's just that's what I focused on?!
ReplyDeleteThe water of the Gulf was way too cold for me to swim in, but some people did! The Yellow flag is Caution, and the Red flag is Dangerous Conditions for swimming. (High winds, undertow, rough surf) In February, we've never seen a Green flag, which indicates ideal conditions. There are days when the water seems calm, but there are no Lifeguards, so it's swim at your own risk. But really love the walks on the beach; it is a precious time spent with my parents and other family members!
I thoroughly enjoyed reading your beautifully drawn travel journal. Sounds like you had a great time. Even had pasties! I also love playing games. My favorite is Rummicub, and I like Trivial Persuit too. But I have never heard of Rook or Euch. I'm sorry Doug had an ear infection. I hope it's all gone and better now.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting mine,
Happy T-day,
Lisca
I love how you make your journals - I will have to put this on the big screen tomorrow though as I can't see details on my phone! Hugs, Chrisx
ReplyDeleteWow! You really do a wonderfully artistic job on your hobonichi! I am really impressed. You captured a lot on those pages. Happy T-Day! :)
ReplyDeleteYour journals are so awesome!!! I loved pouring over each page ♥ Happy T Day!
ReplyDeleteThat's the most beautiful and artsy planner journal I have ever seen! I am thrilled about your watercolor art and calligraphy - You never cease to amaze me with your art Dianne!

what eyecandy you are bringing to us this week, i love all These sketched Details and really envy you for this skill (and i´m too impatient to practise myself...).
ReplyDeletehave a beautiful week!
Love your pages. There is love in them.Amazing Dianne!
ReplyDeleteSpent a long time looking at your pages and all the details. I always enjoy your work and admire the fact that you keep it up with on vacation. I've not seen one of these planners. I'll have to check it out, it looks like the pages lay nice and flat which is an issue for me with various notebooks.
