Watercolor pencil inspired by
American folk art -- and a crazy day!
I do enjoy hearing the birds sing outside
of my window...
Mini collage, above. Who knew that shorthand
would have a symbol for gesso? My
spell check doesn't even recognize it so I
need to add it to my dictionary...
Watched an interview on-line by Danny Gregory, and
added some of his quotes to this watercolor collage.
His blog and sketches are amazing...
(There is a link to his blog in my side bar)
Can't seem to resist the vintage bottles.
Silk flowers stuck in an old medicine bottle.
Above, Sharpie pen and watercolor doodles
just for fun.
Watercolor pencils and Sharpie pen.
I drew this while at a gas station. We were
parked in front of the propane tank exchange
display, so had to draw the cool logo.
Filled in the color when I got home.
Collage from scrapbook papers and a
color copy of a map in an encyclopedia.
The flower is a photocopy of a drawing
that I did, then colored with watercolor
pencils. And couldn't resist a bit more shorthand!
That's my ICAD week.
What have you been up to?
These are all great, Dianne. I especially love the doodle one. It reminds me of jewels sitting on a tray.

Awesome index cards--every single one of them!
ReplyDeleteHow many remember what shorthand is/was? And who would have guessed there was a symbol for gesso! Love it! Also, love the bottle and the Rhino!
ReplyDeleteAll beautiful icads, but I love the doodle...
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!

Totally loving these!
ReplyDeleteAll wonderful - and so varied! And how delightful about the gesso discovery.
ReplyDeleteThese are just so lovely as a group.... your lettering is so wonderful and I do like that a similar colour palette is running through them even though all of the cards are different...xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous series! I can't wait to see what you come up with next week!
ReplyDeleteHey! This time, I looked at all your cards first, and then read. I didn't even know you were doing icad! I have not been reading as much in the blog department with three differrent challenges going on at once! I like seeing what you're up to and these pencils are a great idea for a theme week! Love that shorthand one! I had forgotten about Gregg! Your birdies are always cool. I like the delicate flowers. This gives me inspiration and I may steal the idea for next week. Or... this one!
ReplyDeleteI am SO impressed with the variety of your art. Everything from beautiful drawings to colorful collages reigned this week. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them all.
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome set you showed for week two. Wish I had started that way, instead of showing mine on Sunday.
You have the most beautiful fonts! I just adore all of your cards, but the ones with your writing on them are amazing!
ReplyDeleteLove your icads - I especially like the collage with musical notes & shorthand for gesso.
ReplyDeleteWow, Dianne...I am a huge fan of your watercolor work. I love your "frames" around the card, and the watercolor collage card. I could just stare at them for hours for the inspiration they give me.
ReplyDeleteThese are just gorgeous. What marvelous work. Thank you,
