Words and Doodles ~ ICAD 2013

Above is a quote from a Public Radio interview
of a 'creative life coach.'  Sorry to say I didn't get
his name written down, but he was saying that
asking the right question can make us view things
in a whole new light, and energize us into action.

As someone who has to be ever vigilant about
maintaining my weight, I ask myself this question
every day!

A quote from the book 'Good Mail Day.'
It's a fun, inspiring, and motivational book
about mail art. I think this is a good way to
get over the 'blank paper' fear:  Don't think,
just make!

Quote from Randy Plowman's book
'The Collage Workbook,' another
excellent book about making collage,
with well-written guidelines and
fun ideas to try.

As our Independence Day approached here in
the U.S. I thought it would be a good time to
look up some quotes by our first president,
George Washington.

I've been having a lot of fun with my Sharpie pen
and watercolors, but I haven't painted with acrylics
in ages.   I am feeling the desire to get messy with
paint and incorporate that on some of my cards...
so check back for the next installment.

Post Script: Here are all of my ICADS
since the beginning of the challenge!

Visit Daisy Yellow , and also the ICAD Flickr group
to see more art on index cards.

I have been having some computer difficulties
this week, with numerous crashes.  Cross your
fingers that I'll figure it out and get things
cleaned up and running smoothly again!

Have a creative week!

  1. These are simply adorable. Looks like you have been on a quote streak this week. So fun to see what quotes you come up with.

And you did a fantastic job with showing your month's worth of ICADs. I didn't take that much time, and I'm usually the one who likes to stage everything.

Hope you are enjoying the long weekend.

  2. I love all your icads but I especially love these with the inspirational words.

  3. I really like the quotes. Very cool. Great job, as usual. <3

  4. I love, love, love your cards. Not only are the quotes great, but you present them in the form of lovely, charming art. I love the "is it worth it?" card. I might have to print that one!

  5. Wow, these are fabulous index cards - I love your style, such fantastic detail in each one, and I also love your quotes - very inspirational words. Many thanks for dropping by my blog and leaving such nice comments - it's very much appreciated.

  6. Great quotes, especially the George Washington ones.

  7. Great cards - I love the quotes you've chosen and how you've arted them up. Fun seeing your collection to date as well. Good luck with the computer issues!

  11. I apologize. I thought I had already seen your ICADs this week when I saw the picture on my sidebar. I hope you are NOT having computer problems. It seems like it wasn't that long ago your computer went what my British friends might call "walkabout."

  12. i love the way you work a theme or technique for a series of cards! the quotation ones are VERY cool, i love the way you've varied letter styles and placements and suited them to the quote on each. awesome!
