Hobonichi Techo on Tuesday

Tea (or coffee) and a muffin~
joining up with Elizabeth and friends

sharing the doodles and drawings
in my Hobonichi Techo planner/diary/
visual journal/thingy!
(Click on any image to enlarge)

I confess...I play a lot of 'catching up...'
in this journal.

When you are over 60, do Zumba
with caution!  But it's so fun...

I don't usually shop for myself in the
men's department, but I had been wanting
a pair of cargo pants to wear for hiking.
Marked down to $5...couldn't pass it up!
And perfect to wear to the Ohio State Fair
the next day...

It's a tradition at the State Fair to have the
Butter Cow sculpture every year. It's been
going on since the early 1900's. The Butter
Cow is kept in a big cooler in the Dairy Barn,
with glass doors so it can easily be viewed.
The cooler is kept at about 45 degrees.
It was about 90 degrees outside at the
 fairgrounds the day we visited!

And this is the current condition of
the next two pages in my Techo...lest
you think I am always current!!

Keeping an illustrated journal does encourage
me to look at my day in a creative way...
and to try to think of something positive
that came out of it.  I think focusing on the
positive makes one a happier person.
What do you think?

Supplies used in my Hobonichi Techo:
vintage wallpaper, assorted pens, highlighters, watercolor pencils,
water brush, Sharpie pen, Washi tape, painted papers, stickers, Tacky glue.

  3. I just love reading your journal. I sit down especially with a drink and take my time to look at every little thing. I just love what you do! I write a journal every day but never thought oif illustrating it. I should really. It would make it more fun. Or illustrating my shopping list. That would teach me to draw tomatoes!
Cargo pants for 5 dollars sounds a great bargain. Great for gardening and bumming about.
    Happy T-Day,
    And a great week ahead,
    Lisca

  4. i totally love all These Journal pages. seems you are so used to handwrite in all These different "Fonts" that you Need not think a lot of their outcome. i envy you for that, i´m not so "loose" in that, suppose i think too much about it and can´t write freely.
your Giraffe-Person reminds me a bit of nick bantock (if you know him), one of my mail art heroes.
and you are definitely right: creative work makes me happier and thinking positively!
have a great week and happy t-day!

    1. yes Johanna, the "giraffe person" is inspired by Nick Bantock! he does such fun imaginary creatures! and I enjoy the fonts-have been doing it since high school. I suppose that's why it seems easy-lots of practice!

  6. It's always fun to read your journal pages. I got a hoot at you doing the Zumba. Looks just like you, too!

Be sure to check out Lisca's post today. I now know those cards I used in our last swap are possibly Italian.

We have a butter cow at our State Fair, too. I had no idea it traveled from fair to fair. It's huge and if a person has never seen it, they would be in for a treat.

Thanks for sharing your art AND your drink with us for T this Tuesday.

I remember the dairy barn at our fair had a butter cow. Fascinating.

  14. Almost NEXT Tuesday but here I am at last. I so enjoy reading your journal pages and looking at the illustrations. I've been looking up info on our local fairs. I want to get to one this summer. I've never seen (or even heard of) a butter cow. Maybe there will be one if I go visit a fair.
