Tomatoes in my Techo

Last week you saw the unfinished page
with the tomatoes.  Here is the finished page,
above left. (click on any image for larger view)

On Tuesday, after visiting my blogging
buddies, hubby and I went out for Mexican
food and then for a walk. Hubby said I was a
"slave driver"...especially since it was
90 degrees F outside. We walked on a trail
that has been reclaimed from an old railroad
line, called Tall Grass Prairie.  We were
pretty wiped out after walking two miles
out and then two miles back.

We are delighted that an owl has moved
into our area. It likes to perch in our
cottonwoods, and on top of our "swing set"
made from old telephone poles. We still aren't
sure what kind it is...

We have finally gotten some rain, after over
a month without any. Hopefully it is just in time
to benefit the crops. Several more days of
rain are predicted, but it's been very 'spotty.'
Pours in one place, then a mile down
the road, nothing!

Linking up for T Tuesday, with a sketch
of my morning mocha, and an oat bran
cereal recipe.  Stop over to Elizabeth's
blog and see what adventures in dining,
crafts, art, cooking, or decorating might be
shared. You just never know what will be
going on, but there's always a beverage
offered, and enjoyment to be had.

  2. Your journal pages are works of art for lack of a better way to say it Dianne!
I just realized that I am not a fan of heat... outside or in food either.
I do enjoy Mexican food if it is not too spicy.
This heat takes the starch out of me.
I salute you on your walk which sounds really nice.
Such a thrill it must be to have a resident owl.
I hope to see one in the wild someday.
What a beautiful jar and extra special that it came from your mom...L♥ve your bluebird too.
Happy T Day dear Dianne oxo

  3. I just love how you do your journal! We have an owl in an adjoining neighborhood, and sometimes it spends some time where we can hear it. Sweet :)

I'm joining you in watching the Olympics. Some of the coverage is irritating, but the events themselves are so much fun to watch.

    Happy T Tuesday!

  4. I believe I agree with your husband about the slave driver. I would NOT be able to walk to the end of the block and back in our well over 100 F temps with up to 110 F heat index. It's finally cooled back to the 90s F, so it feels a bit better.

Loved the tomatoes and reading about the owl. But I was really impressed with your quote by Joss Whedon. One of my favorite writers and producers.

Glad you got some rain. You are welcome to all of my extra that I've had this summer. Enjoyed reading that you are watching the Olympics, as I suspect is most of the country.

Thanks for sharing the mocha and your lovely recipe for oat bran cereal for T this Tuesday. The cereal recipe sounds wonderful.

  8. I always love seeing your journal entries. That quote about your weirdest trait being your best asset is wonderful. I love it. And I also love how you added the blue jar, with the flag and the little birdie...and I had to go get some Mexican food last week too. Elizabeth's post was just too tempting. Hugs-erika

  12. Love the weird asset quote. Makes me want to think about what each of our weird thing is and how that can be turned into an asset. Thanks for the thought provoking post.
    Happy T day...really late.
