Creating Randomly

Do you consider baking a form of art?
I've decided that trying to mix purple from
red and blue food coloring is futile.  Turned
out ugly in my opinion, but the best I could do.
On my second try of mixing up this King Cake,
it turned out pretty well, and the family seemed
to enjoy it!

Here are a few random creations that I've
been making during my long absence from
the blog...  Happy Year of the Rat!

Unicorn photo props for my daughter the Music
Teacher. They do a Daddy/Daughter dance as a
fundraiser for the Drama Club, and this year the
theme was Unicorns. The "I Poop Rainbows"
was my favorite... Oh my glittering
rainbow-unicorn-cupcake-stars!

Just a joyful celebration of seeing the rare
experience of sunshine during a gray
 Ohio winter.

Yes, I'm still doodling tiny things and cutting
them out for my Planner/Art Journal.

The Hobonichi Challenge in my 4 x 6 inch Techo
for the month of February is
Love for Australia.  I did not know that the
Pavlova dessert had been invented in Australia!

Linking up with Tea Tuesday over at the
Altered Book Lover blog.  My 'qualifying' T Tuesday
images are the red coffee mug and the Pavlova
illustration. Sounds like a winning
combination to me!

  1. I was dyeing some flowers for a girl one time and needed purple. I ended up buying purple gel food coloring to complete the project. I like your King cake, though, and I see I'm not the only one celebrating Mardi Gras. Love how you placed the beads on the inside of the circle.

Had a good laugh at the Unicorn pooping rainbows. LOVE your imagination.

I thoroughly enjoy seeing your journal. I actually LIKED Silent Witness, but agree there NOTHING like Midsomer Murders. I miss that show a LOT. Loved your Fleur de Lei, too. Great for Mardi Gras.

So good to see you back joining us for T. Since I'm not on Instagram, I miss out on a lot. Hope you'll check in with us every so often and share a drink like the one in your big red soup bowl you shared for T this almost Tuesday. I've really missed you, dear friend.

  12. Very arty! A Daddy/Daughter dance, how cute, un-practised in Germany (in my time at least, will ask my Brother, he has two Daughters) - ohhhh, the Kookaburra. I have three right here by Wendy Binks, it was a wedding-pressie :-)
A (belated) happy T-day to you!

  13. Your cake does look like art. I like how the purple came out. And your sketched artwork is fantastic. I love how your journal page looks. (I wish I could draw like that.) Happy belated T-Day!

  14. Your artwork is amazing, you are very talented. I think you could class baking as an art form as some people decorate their cakes so beautifully, mine look like a car crash but usually taste fine, they always get eaten anyway.
Our GS is quite obsessed with Australia as they have been learning about it at Kindergarten,
Thanks for your visit, happy belated T Day
