Tribute to Wizards

The month of July is
"Harry Potter Month" in my
Hobonichi A6.

I especially love the 'young' Harry Potter
characters from the first couple of movies.
And of course I've read the books several times
too.  Never mind that they are supposed to be
books for kids.  They are great fun!

After a month of drawing toys in June,
I stumbled upon #thelicklekiwi challenge of
#31daysofharry on Instagram...perfect!

Then realized after a couple of days that many
of the participants are professional illustrators
interpreting the characters in their own
cartoon style. OK then.
I will still do my own thing...

portrait sketches from photos.

Well, the Weasley twins are kind of
'cartooney' on this page. Didn't have time
that day for realism, I guess.

Enjoying doing these, though I admit
I tend to get behind a couple of days
and then catch up, especially when
the family was visiting over the
4th of July holiday!

"You look in excellent health to me, Potter, so you will
excuse me if I don't let you off homework today. I
assure you that if you do DIE, you need not turn it in."
~Professor Mcgonagall

Some suspicious characters...

and some that we
love to hate!

  5. Fabulous, fabulous character drawings, Dianne!! I've missed your drawings that last couple t-parties. And then you show up with your bests ever. Bellatrix is my favorite - not the character, your drawing of her. Outstanding.

Happy 5th T-day Birthday! Hugs, Eileen

  7. Before I forget, I counted nine cups of coffee.

Now, don't kick me off the island, but I have never seen a Harry Potter movie, read a Harry Potter book, or know anything about the series other than it made a $h!tload of money for the author, whose name I can't even remember.

I feel for your daughter and her sciatica. That can be painful. I swear you folks eat more in a week than I do in a MONTH. It seems like every page has something food related to it.

Have you heard if and when the NEW Midsomer Murders will be coming out? I thought they were in production earlier in the year. I've seen all 19 seasons twice, yes twice, and still love the show.

I'm SO glad you joined us today for a very special anniversary T Tuesday. It's always a treat seeing your lovely art in your hobonichi journal. BTW, I made a replica of Indy's dad's diary one year after Joseph and I saw the movie in L A.

  15. Good morning,
thanks so much for your kind comments on my page-now that I remember what I am doing-I am enjoying the quilting so far-yes I have found faded fabric but no rust stains any where that I have seen. this was also hand pieces so it kinda makes me smile how she hand sewed in another piece of fabric when she did not have a long enough piece, or just gathered it all up in a seam lol kinda fun to think how she put the quilt top together
I love your sketches- you are so talented!! have you illustrated any books? Happy T Day-hugs Kathy

  16. Your sketches are as fabulous as ever. I really liked the Harry Potter movies but I never read the books. I just picked up the second book at Goodwill today for 50 cents so I figure I better get started on the series.
Happy Tea Day a Day Late,
    Kate

  18. I really enjoyed reading all the pages and marvelling ovcer your really good illustrations. Of course I have no idea who they are as I have not read the books or seen any films. But they look good.
I'm sorry your daughter has sciatica problems. They are so difficult to get rid of.
Oh we love Midsomer murders. They are so typically British. There really are villages like that. Luckily not that many murders, or there wouldn't be any inhabitants left! I also love poirot. The actor Davis Suchet portrays him so well. (I know Peter Ustinov did a pretty good job too at one time, but I prefer David Suchet). It's such a shame they have stopped making the series.
    Happy belated T-Day,
    Lisca
