Peter Pan quote...
and a collage to fill in some blank
space. Here's a tiny coffee
cup for my link-up to T Tuesday
this week!
I used a vintage illustration as my
model for the tale of Bluebeard, showing
the moment he gives the keys to his
new wife. Bluebeard warns her not to open
'that one door.' You can guess
what happens then...
The busy weekend caused me to
play 'catch up' in my Hobonichi
after the fact. Loved having my son and
his family here, even for a short visit.
A new month, a new challenge.
I may combine 'Inktober' with the
Hobonichi Challenge prompts...
I enjoy getting out these little
folk art figurines every Fall.
The gargoyle was an interesting
subject. Not my favorite. But good
to draw something out of my
comfort zone.
It's difficult for me to resist adding
watercolor to the ink drawings.
A little bit of orange background
can't hurt, right?
The Hobonichi Challenge for Oct. 5th
was 'spider.' Having this in my planner
is creeping me out. I may have to cover
it up with a flap of some kind!
Hope you're enjoying October so far.
Thanks for stopping by!
What amazing ink drawings and the Peter Pan quote is so wonderful! Bacon, eggs and biscuits sounds like a yummy breakfast and I'm now feeling hungry ...lol 😉. Wishing you a very Happy T Day! J 😊
ReplyDeleteI have that same folk art cat. Nice ink drawings. I always look he peeks into your journal. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteAlways enjoy your art! :)
ReplyDeleteSomething is wrong with your blog from my screen. I only see the post, but nothing else, like your sidebar. It might be me, but I've not seen it do that before.
ReplyDeleteI adore your lovely drawings. I really liked seeing Bluebeard, not to be confused with my adorable Bleubeard, I also liked your interpretation of Jack and the Beanstalk. Of course, I knew you would be crazy over Halloween, and I always look forward to seeing how you decorate your home for this "holiday." I so enjoy your pumpkins and even the gargoyle. I also liked the spider, but I am not as turned off by them as you appear to be.
Thanks for sharing your week with us, your lovely drawings, and your cups of coffee in pen with us for T this Tuesday.
i hope the fairy tale series will never end... but i also like the halloweeny motifs!
ReplyDeletehappy t-day!
Love your beautiful drawings and illustrations, you have so much talent. Happy T Day, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteFabulous ink drawings, every page you share is full of awesome details.
ReplyDeleteI think I would have to have a flap on the spider, they are not one of my favourite of creatures either.
Happy T day wishes.
Yvonne xx
all your pages are utterly fantastic Dianne!! Love your Bluebeard illustration, and your gargoyle and spider look so real I might wish to add a flap over them too:) Happy T day!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh - you are such an inspiration - what a professional artist you are!
ReplyDeleteLove seeing your art Dianne! Your bullet style entries always make me think i could do this type of journaling... Happy T day! Hugs! deb
ReplyDeleteI love the beanstalk and jack-o-lanterns best :) but I'm always impressed by all your drawings. Happy T Tuesday
ReplyDeleteI could see the photos, but not anything on your sidebar. Now all is fixed. Not sure if it was my fault or not, but I had a bit of a meltdown (electricity off in my neighborhood for about 45 minutes last night. Today I can see everything again, and it's all in the proper spot, too. Sorry to cause concern.
ReplyDeletelove looking at your drawings
ReplyDeleteLove your art! Happy T Day Kathy
ReplyDeleteHi Dianne,
ReplyDeleteYour spelling of Bluebeard intrigued me, because our dear Elizabeth's spelling rings a bell for me. I found the derivation on Wikipedia."Barbe bleue is a French folktale." So I guess that Bleubeard is the quaint version from the original French. Maybe Eilzabth can shed more light ...
It's a pretty awful folk tale, but I love your illustrations.
I can't believe you're doing a month-long ink challenge! I'm still smiling at the creepy spider.
Happy T-Day! Hugs, Eileen
Dianne - I love looking at your sketches and quotes in your Hobo. Are you going to make that folk art cat? Think it would be hard to turn those legs right side out, but the finished cat would be a great addition to your Halloween collection. :-) And your gargoyle is wonderful! Surprised you think that is outside your comfort zone as you did it really well. Can't wait to see you on Saturday and hear how your class is going.
ReplyDeleteIt is always fun to peek through your drawings. I think Inktober is going to be fantastic. I did shudder a bit at the spider tho.
ReplyDeleteOh My Dianne! Your drawings are amazing! That wolf spider is SO scary!! Good to have coffee time with your planner - I got out of the habit while away - didn't need to plan! Belated Happy T Day! Chrisxx
ReplyDeleteLove all of your drawings ♥♥♥ I have a deep fondness for those little Halloween figurines too :) They make me smile.
ReplyDeleteLOVE all the drawings....as usual! The spider is great! Sorry to be so late for T-day, but the week got away from me....LOL! Now it is almost time to post again! Yikes!!!
