New vs. Old

New versus old Hobonichi Techo
planner/art journal. Kind of hard to give
up working in this well-loved, painted and
collaged 2016 planner.

The contrast in thickness of the
old compared to the new planner
is striking...it's at least doubled in size,
but the binding and paper held up well.
I don't usually concern myself with the
thickness of paper layers, but you can
see here why I tried to be somewhat
conservative in adding layers. Better
to do watercolors directly in the book...
and good practice to do so!

One of the last entries of 2016~
went to see 'Rogue One, a Star Wars
Story,' with our daughter. Then met up
with our son-in-law to enjoy dinner out.

It's been an eventful two months, and
lots of stuff went wrong. Thankful that
hubby is doing well from his surgery, and
may go back to work next week. Seems
that the only way he gets the holidays off
is to be hurt or sick, and this year he was
both! Tiny tea/coffee cups in my planner
to qualify for linking up with the T Tuesday
gang. I'm late to the party, but better late
than never. Stop by for a visit!

Wishes for a Happy and Prosperous
New Year to you!

    Happy New Year Dianne!

  10. I'm so sorry I'm late visiting. I am having all kinds of computer problems at the moment, and my brand new computer that is less than a week old is now gone. My friend Scott thinks it's the video card, but since it has a warranty, he took everything back with him. Of course, I was offline until we could figure out the problem. SEVEN hours later, and both of us are frustrated.

Your new versus old planner is quite distinctive. I can see why it was so hard to give it up. Sort of like saying goodbye to a friend. That last page was fantastic.

I think it would be fun to see you make a Santa ornament each month or two in 2017. It would take all the pressure off Christmas.

Glad to read your husband is doing much better, I can feel the sigh of relief and know it's a burden off your shoulders, too.

Thanks for sharing these journals, and your journal pages, as well as your lovely little cups withus for T this Wednesday. Happy New Year, too. Just wish your cold was better, now that hubby is on the mend.

BTW, glad you got your tip-in. Please don't worry about anything else. I am so far behind on my gift giving this year, I feel bad.

  11. i´m not familiar with the movie, but i love your drawings. your old planner is a treasure, and the new one will become, too!
happy 2017 and may it be a healthy one for the whole Family!

  12. Very sorry you've had some rough patches.
Life has a way of ganging up on us sometimes.
Hope 2017 is much better for you all.
Your journals are so chock full of wonderful artwork Dianne! Always a pleasure to see.
Take care and Happy Day after Tuesday oxo

  13. I always enjoy your art journaling. Seeing the old book next to the new one is eye-opening! Happy T-Whatever-day-it-is ;)
