Peepers, Lambs and a Dragon in my Techo

Still drawing and painting in my
Hobonichi Techo.  Yes, I did watch
the final episode of Downton Abbey.
Sad to see it end.  Is it too much to
hope for a holiday special?

The dragon art is inspired by the cover
art work on "A Dance with Dragons" by
George Martin.  Rereading the last book,
trying to re-familiarize myself with the
complex plot and numerous characters.
The author needs to publish the
next book already. It's been five years!

The chorus of Spring Peepers is
pretty loud around here...and the
monsoons have begun. Well, ok.
Maybe not monsoons, but our
yard is a lake right now.

I did this sketch of lambs without realizing
that this breed is born mostly black (with
a few grayish white markings) and then
the wool turns white later...

Lamb sketch done from a 'phone photo'
taken in the barn--my daughter and SIL's
newborn lambs.  Sooo cute!  It gets
complicated if the mother rejects any of
them though.  A lot of work. Fingers
crossed that the babies all make it
this year...

Recycling a coffee sketch for the
T Tuesday blog hop,
in which we can blog about whatever
we are up to, as long as there is a
 beverage-related image.  Join us!

  1. It's always such a thrill to see your fabulous pages Dianne. That dragon woman is wonderful and I love how artsy your pages look! Happy T day!
PS I am so hoping the writers of Downton Abbey come up with a new similar series

  3. Great journal pages. I love your sketches. And I'm with you about the George Martin books. Do you watch Game of Thrones or just read the books?

  6. First, I want to say how wonderful the calendar pages/images are. I can't begin to tell you how well you draw, because of course, I'm sure you know.

Just in time for Easter, the little lamb is adorable and so are the sheep.

I'm not familiar with George Martin, the Dragon books, or even the Game of Thrones you and Erica discussed. So, if you are thinking of using characters from this/these books as your fake person, there's NO WAY I'll guess it. I DO like the dragon, though.

You know I don't check my messages very often, so no, I haven't checked my e-mail in about a week. Sad, but true. I WILL check to see if the pages have come, though and let you know on our blog. Guess it's time we start showing our pages. Unfortunately, I haven't even started the ones I'm to make this month.

Thanks for sharing these beautiful drawings, including your coffee cup with us for T this Tuesday.

  7. Your journal is a real treasure. Spring and lambs just go together, enjoyed seeing your drawings. How exciting that your family is raising sheep. Must be fun to watch the baby lambs.

  12. Downtown was wonderful wasn't it...can't believe it's over!
I look forward to the peeper songs here soon and the next Game of Thrones series (I bet the books are really good...I have only seen the TV version).
Precious lambs on your journal pages.
It is always fun to click for a closer look at what you've created.
Hope you had a Happy T Day and that your lake recedes!
Thank you for visiting me oxo

  14. I haven't watched this season yet...I have it saved and am going to be starting it this week. I hate waiting week to week...i tend to binge watch lots of things by waiting.
I am super excited about GOT starting up again though. I never made it past the 3rd book...hubby read them all. It just kept falling asleep while reading then would have to go back and reread over and over. With all the characters and places, it was just too complex to keep track of while "sleep-reading" :)
    Wonderful journaling as always.
    Happy T day

  15. I have never watched Downton Abbey... I know what you mean about book series... I have a couple that seem to have stalled.....they wait too long and you lose interest... I have a couple that have finally come out with a new book but i think i'm going to have to go back and reread the whole series so i know whats going on... One of them is The Green Rider series by Kristen Britain and the Prophecy series by Elizabeth Haydon... Love both series just got tired of waiting.. Now i'am reading the 'Outlander' series and totally enjoying it.. I just finished 'An Echo in the Bone' and waiting for 'Written in my Own Hearts Blood' to arrive in the mail... Love seeing all your artwork Dianne....Beautiful.. Happy Belated Tday! Hugs! deb
