Possibilities

Collage: scrapbook paper, labels, vintage music library
index card

A new year brings a lot of
possibilities...

After the hustle and bustle of the
 holidays, when the house guests
have gone home, and things get back
to normal, (or what passes for normal at our
house) there can be a bit of sadness.
 Looking back at enjoyable moments
from 2015, and the possibilities of 2016
helps me keep a positive perspective.

There are new journals to be filled,
different techniques to be tried,
and new art to be made!

Some art friends talked me into
trying gelli plate printing.  The
backgrounds did come out lovely!
Not sure I will run out and buy one,
but the gelli print made a colorful
 background for this tag.

I've had a lot of Peppermint herbal tea
this week, as I am nursing a cold.  But
hopefully am on the mend.  I do enjoy
a hot beverage on a cold day! The cold
weather has finally arrived in Ohio - we
had an unseasonably warm December!

Linking up with the T Tuesday
gang over at the Altered Book Lover,
and planning on more peppermint tea...
just as soon as I finish my coffee!

  2. Oh Dianne, I LOVE your beautiful possibilities post and new year's page. The music library index card blew me away. I love it.

Wow, new journals, new techniques, and gelli printing seems to have you starting out on the right foot. I can attest to the fact that I waited over 3 years to get a gelli. When I got it, I used it once and hated it. Still don't like it. Glad you did, though. I hope to show better alternatives to the gelli soon.

WOW, what a great calendar page you have created. I'm in total AWE!!!!

Sorry that you are nursing a cold. Your peppermint herbal tea sounds wonderful, though. Thanks for sharing your tea (but not your cold) and your art with us for T this Tuesday, dear friend.

  3. So sorry to hear your starting the new year with a cold, but those warm beverages do help!
I adore your new calendar page and all the positive sayings on all your art work.
I don't own a Gelli plate either. I did attempt a home made one and wasn't very excited about printing with it. I'd rather just slosh some paint and spritz n spray some inks for a background.
Thanks for the T-day visit and the comment.

  5. Hope you feel better soon! I'm on the fence about peppermint tea, but I bet it is soothing if you have a cold or stomach ailment. I'm putting away the decorations today in between cups of tea. Can't wait to get back to crafting and I am with you--new crafts & techniques here we come!

Lovely to see so much creativity from you already this new year.
Marking another year's passing always makes me feel conflicted and a bit sad.
It is one year further away from memories of lost loved ones and more.
Here's to a wonderful new year full of hope, creativity and possibilities.
    Happy T Day too oxo
