Notes, Intentions and Collage

The Documented Life Project-The Journal 2015:  Intentions for the year... in a Dylusions journal.  Materials include gesso, craft acrylic, collage, marker, and painted papers.  Some wonderful script on papers gifted me by a friend are peeking through.

I liked the term "intentions" that Elizabeth K. used on her blog, so I blatantly appropriated the idea here.

The theme for January's DLP is overcoming the fear of the blank page.  The first week's  challenge was to begin by collaging an assortment of papers onto the page to overcome the (perhaps intimidating) white space, and then create on top of the different papers with whatever medium you chose.  I also chose to draw a self-portrait over the painted and collaged page.

In another journal, I've included some pages of notes that just seemed  important to record.  Usually drawings or collage fill my art journals, but quotations, notes and "I wonder...?"  may also be included...

Linking up with Elizabeth for
the weekly T Tuesday party, and
sharing a journal page from last winter~

Thank goodness it's not 15 degrees F
below zero at the moment! But still
a good day for hot chocolate, or
coffee, or tea. Anything warming...

  1. Great pages!! I love the quote about chocolate - so true!! :-P

  2. Your DLP pages are simply wonderful!! Your style reminds me of this wonderful lady that I follow avidly - http://dispatchfromla.typepad.com/ - I hope you enjoy her work too. Happy T Day Dianne ((hugs)) :o)

  3. Friend with chocolate. YES! lol Love your journal pages. So glad you shared with us this Tday! Hugs! deb

  4. I love your journal pages, so wish I could do that sort of thing but it doesn't happen and your self portrait page is wonderful, just love it! Happy T Tuesday to you! Annette

  5. I always enjoy your wonderful creative art when I visit Dianne. Love your DLP pages-that is a great portrait you sketched! Lots of thoughtful quotes too. Happy T day!

  6. Hit Chocolate? Yes please! Happy T Day, Chrisx

  7. You have more journals going than I own (grin). I see they have changed the focus of DLP this year, because I don't see all the washi tape so many people went wild over buying last year.

Your pages are wonderful, and you are right to call these thoughts "intentions." So much more promising and less stressful.

Nice to see a quotes journal. I bet you fill it up in no time, since I KNOW how much you LOVE quotes.

Thanks for sharing your lovely journal pages and your hot chocolate with us for T this Tuesday. I agree that a warm drink is needed today.

  8. What a wonderful self-portrait!! Great pages! You have been busy. Thanks for sharing. I love to see what other people are doing in their art journals.
    Happy T-Day! :)

  9. Beautiful, inspirational art as always, Diane! Great way to overcome the white page. My oil painting teacher used to have us just start covering our canvas with paint to help us through that same thing.

  10. My dark side is chocolate! Love a friend with coco too!

  11. You inspire me to draw more. Not that I do it as often as you by any stretch. :)
Your mug of chocolate is perfect. I assume you had a model for that one.

  12. I'm late getting around this week... my time management skills need improvement :) Love your journal pages I still haven't decided wither or not to attempt the DLP or not .... I need to make a decision before I"m too far behind to catch up .

  13. Each page you create is so enjoyable and a friend with chocolate = yes indeed :-)
I think I need to follow Mr Disney's advice and shake myself out of this funk!
Thank you for always inspiring and sharing.

  14. Love the self portrait Dianne and the page of intentions. I like that better than resolutions! Although I'm surprised you think you should smile more. When I think of you, you ALWAYS have a smile on your face! Miss you!

  15. Nice pages with the sketch of yourself. Interesting to see your "notes" page as well.

  16. Hello Dianne! So good to be here and seeing your new pages for the year. What a wonderful start in your journal!! I really love the collage/painted/portrait you did. The extra pages with quotes and bits are good too. You make it so easy, hoping mine will be more like this over the year.
I just posted my T time post now since it's the only time I have free till then. You will like it!!

It was cold for us last week too and not as much sun this week. Stay warm and happy painting!

I really appreciate your comments. Leave me a note and Thanks for visiting!
