I have succumbed to the Smash Book
sold by K&Company.
I often make my own journals or
sketchbooks, but I was intrigued
by working on backgrounds created
by someone else.
Since I didn't create the book and the
background myself, I am a little more free
about how I 'smash stuff in there.'
It doesn't have to be a finished
piece of art, but the collages and
designs still have to be pleasing
to the eye.
Gluing in lots of scraps of painted papers,
etc. Mona came from Halle--I love that
postcard!
Can you tell which faces I drew?
(definitely not the one from the
Sistine Chapel!)

On the final countdown to the October wedding.
It is less than a month away.
Table centerpieces made and boxed.
Putting stickers on candy bags.
Phone calls and emails flying.
My posts may be sporadic...
but I will be back.
Love your smash book, it is so fun! I want to buy one, too, but then I think...I could make that! Problem is, I never will. I'll break down, it's a matter of time.
ReplyDeleteHey cool...my postcard! Love that Mona card. Very cool smash book. I had thought about buying one a while back but decided that would break my "no buying new stuff" pact with myself. :)
ReplyDeleteThe smash book is fantastic. I love your sketches in the previous post from the fair. So nice to be able to draw your surroundings. Good luck with the wedding plans. Best wishes, Tammy
ReplyDeleteExcitement! I forgot about the wedding!
ReplyDeleteSo, I'm going to have to check out this Smash book thing. Although I've been sworn to not spend a cent, maybe I can spend just two cents...?!
