This dahlia flower was only penciled-in
last week...
I love the loopy center petals that
aren't quite open.
Wonky coffee cups for my beverage
today -- to link up with Bleubeard and Elizabeth,
for T Tuesday.
Went to my first ever Urban Sketchers event
on Earth Day, at Bicentennial Park along the
Scioto River in Columbus, Ohio.
Drawing buildings is a lot harder than I
anticipated! It's a beautiful park, and finally
the weather cooperated and was warmer!
I did a pen and watercolor drawing in an
8 1/2 x 11 sketchbook, spent about 2 hrs on it.
This little sketch in my Hobonichi is
about two inches high...
You can tell from the photo that the
proportions of my sketch are off, but it's
a learning experience...
Having the photo to
compare to is helpful, and I could certainly
do another drawing from it if desired.
Still enjoying the flower prompts
of the Hobonichi Challenge
this month...
I've also been journaling as someone else for
the month of April, over at my other blog
Cottonwood Counterfeit Journal. Stop by
to see what's happening there.
Happy Tuesday!
If you counted twelve beverage cups
last week in my post, you were right!
Such wonderful pages! Your flower drawings are so beautiful and I love your amazing skyline too 😁. The last pages made me smile, especially the "Today I" comment, so funny ...lol 😉. Thanks for the smiles and wishing you a very Happy T Day! J 😊 x
ReplyDeletei expected to see some flowers this week and i was not disappointed. such a variety, gorgeous! and your urban sketch really is a hoot, too! you are so talented!
ReplyDeleteand the question of the bag of idiots, *ggg*...
happy t-day!
your flowers are gorgeous Dianne! I love how lively every one of your days is but it makes me a bit tired:)
ReplyDeleteYour outdoor sketch is fab and I love the humor of the last two pages. Happy T day!
Fantastic journal pages. I always look at them in the enlargement, and the details are wonderful. Happy T Day, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteYour art pages are so beautiful-I love the flowers especially Your posts always make me smile
ReplyDeleteHappy T Day
It's too bad Chris is off traveling the world right now, because we both know how much she loves flowers. Yours are simply out of this world.
ReplyDeleteOf course, I adore your plein air drawing, too. To me, buildings would be easier, but not necessarily from the proper perspective aspect. I thought yours was superb. You will have to agree (or possibly agree to disagree) this drawing looks very similar to the photo you took. Color me impressed.
Over at your counterfeit journal, I still think you are an elderly matron, possibly a former school teacher. I just can't get a better handle on this year's work/art.
As always, I truly enjoy all the coffee mugs you draw in your journals, and laughed at the soup your husband didn't like. Thanks again for the birthday card ad the beautiful message. Thanks, too, for all your wonderful and beautiful art you shared with us for T this Tuesday.
"Who left the bag of idiots open?" What a great quote!
ReplyDeleteI always love seeing your Hobo pages, Dianne. Every single one is so special and lovely. I have to work on my lettering ;-) And my borders ... and, and, and ...
Happy T-day! Hugs, Eileen
The flower drawings in your journal are beautiful and I thought your out door painting was fantastic as well.
ReplyDeleteI am still smiling at the quote on your last page.
Happy T day wishes.
Yvonne xx
What wonderful flowers you have drawn! I love them. Good for you that you tried some urban sketches. Well done.
ReplyDeleteI always love looking at your hobo pages. They are fun.
Love the quote too.
Happy T-Day,
Lisca
You have included some of my most favorite flowers in your pages. I love the chinese peony, dahila and the orchid. So beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHappy Tea Day,
Kate
I had started a comment, but then embiggend your journal pages and now can't remember whether I left a comment or not. I love looking at your pages. Love trying to find cups. Your flowers are awesome. I cracked up when I read who left the bag of idiots open. :-D I'll have to remember that one. Happy T Day
ReplyDeleteYour flowers still slay me! And your urban sketch is dead on!
ReplyDeleteDianne i've kept a written journal for 30 years now and i often wonder what will happen to them all... will they be read when i'm gone or should i have a big bonfire before i die.. lol What keeps you going? Happy Belated T day my T day friend.. i do apologize for the lateness of my visit! Hugs! deb
ReplyDeleteSuch fantastic flowers Dianne! You never cease to amaze me with your art!
ReplyDeleteSorry for being so late this month♥♥♥
Susi
I'm late for T, but your flowers are so stunning I'm not even attending to the cup ;) Beautiful! And I'm ready for the spring/summer blooms :)
ReplyDeleteI'm not an artist, but I am a city girl and love your sketches. There's an urban sketchers group here in Memphis, I think
I'm on catch up here and not making a lot of progress! It is such a joy to see your journal pages though! Your flower drawings are simply wonderful! Well done for the doodle class last week! I often wonder what my children will make of my calendar journals - at the moment they are good for solving mysteries such as when we visited certain events! I am impressed with the steps you do - is this part of everyday walking around or is a time during the day that you dedicate to walking? I have an average of around 4,500 a day over the week - except for the time we were away, when my average was around 11,000. My target for my age is 6,000! Hugs, Chrisx ps Off to see if I can find out whose life you are living!!!
