I'm glad I did because I like your work a lot and I will be a frequent reader, I'm sure. Love your journal pages. So inspiring.Katiejanehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10703557560000189704noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7472962960077924706.post-721427964011322952010-01-03T10:38:50.983-05:002010-01-03T10:38:50.983-05:00I, too, thought it was high end stationery and wis...I, too, thought it was high end stationery and wished I could buy it.
Grunge - probably not on these pages.

Agree with previous commentators to leave it alone for awhile, look at it at different times of the day, in different light. At some point something will come to you - remember it's personal.Bellenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17249001827113998376noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7472962960077924706.post-36768579181240561752009-12-30T13:49:11.059-05:002009-12-30T13:49:11.059-05:00When I first saw the top page, I thought how you c...When I first saw the top page, I thought how you could market that as high-end stationary. It really looks like it could be on your writing desk, instead of your art table.

The other page seems to lend itself to words, too, because I'm not sure that drawings wouldn't present a larger (and more obtrusive) presence than words. Of course, with your keen artistic eye, you would make it work flawlessly in ways I could never see, or imagine.

I'm like Chris. Leave the pages open for a couple of days. Walk around them, observe them from several angles. You'll be happier when you finally decide what needs to go in the white space.

BTW, I would NOT grunge this piece. In my opinion, the colors look better in their natural state. Don't get me wrong, I love grunge as much as the next person, but I think these colors and doodles "read" more like "spring" than "old and tired."Bleubeard and Elizabethhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10149710375520733752noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7472962960077924706.post-41262805687570016242009-12-30T10:40:26.007-05:002009-12-30T10:40:26.007-05:00Personally, I like the space! I love the colors as well, and am loving the pen work. Very nice!

I often wonder about adding some grunge. sometimes I let the work sit for awhile and see how it looks later. My fresh eyes usually surprise me.Chrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03608720704163044033noreply@blogger.com
